When THQ collapsed, the many IPs it owned were auctioned off, to pay its debts. This included IPs of abandoned franchises, and franchise that were abandoned due to certain poor decisions THQ made. Two of those franchise though may be brought back, if the gaming community decides they want them back. Nordic Games bought the Darksiders and Red Faction franchises and will be releasing collections of them next quarter, to gauge community interest in them.
As one gamer I can definitely say I am interested in them, having already played the games in those collections, and I definitely hope others share my interest enough to bring both franchises back.
