So last week I talked about how the constant recovering of the same and/or incorrect elements of the missing plane story were annoying me and that I only wanted to know when they found it. Well, they haven't found it yet but just hours after I published that post, it was declared that the plane and the lives on board were lost, based on some new information.
Kind of awkward, asking for the news stories to end, and then getting that, but with a tragic end. Of course it was probably going to be a tragic end anyway, but still, a little awkward. Continuing to be a cynic for a bit longer, one sad aspect of this is that the next plane to go missing will probably get the same amount of coverage, despite being a not terribly important story.
Sensationalism and journalism don't go together well, in my opinion.
